Odoo Migration Guide
A structured 5-step framework for migrating from Softland, SAP, TOTVS, Oracle, or any legacy ERP to Lussent ERP — without data loss or business disruption.
Typical duration: 4–12 weeks depending on scope
Always migrate to a staging environment first
Never import production data directly to your live instance. Validate all data in a staging environment and obtain business sign-off before the cutover.
Migration Framework
Step 1
Discovery & Assessment
- Audit your current system: modules in use, data volumes, integrations
- Map business processes to Lussent ERP equivalents
- Identify customizations that require development in Lussent
- Define go-live scope (big-bang vs. phased rollout)
- Estimate data migration complexity for each entity
Step 2
Data Extraction
- Export Customers, Vendors, Contacts in CSV/Excel
- Export Products, Categories, Price Lists
- Export Chart of Accounts and Opening Balances
- Export open Invoices, Bills, and Purchase Orders
- Export Employee records and contracts
- Document active inventory and stock levels
Step 3
Data Transformation
- Use Lussent Migration Templates (CSV + field mapping rules)
- Cleanse data: remove duplicates, fix encoding issues
- Map legacy tax codes to Lussent fiscal positions
- Convert currency to functional currency with exchange rates
- Transform product variants to Lussent attribute model
- Validate data with automated checks before import
Step 4
Import & Validate
- Import master data in Lussent staging environment
- Run automated validation reports (duplicates, missing refs)
- Manually validate a representative sample of records
- Import financial opening balances and validate trial balance
- Test key business workflows end-to-end in staging
- Get business owner sign-off on data accuracy
Step 5
Cutover Execution
- Set a cutover date and communicate to all stakeholders
- Freeze legacy system: no new transactions
- Run final delta sync for any changes since staging import
- Activate Lussent ERP as the primary system
- Monitor for 48 hours with support team on standby
- Archive legacy system data for compliance retention
